BNW Energy is a software and consultancy company established in 2014. We assist our customers in assessing techno-economic and environmental viability of new opportunities in the circular economy and fast changing energy markets.
We provide software and analysis for up-to-date insight in fast-changing energy markets and technologies by addressing some key issues:
ü What are the lifecycle costs of generating electricity by different technologies under varying geographical, political and economic conditions?
ü How does it change over time?
ü Where and how can new hybrid energy systems compete with traditional solutions?
ü How to assess the link between mobile and stationary energy?
ü And for all of the above: What are the environmental effects?
BNW Energy is lead by Dr. Torstein Haarberg. We draw on a long-lasting experience and competence on key sustainable energy technologies.
Software – main features
ü Levelized Cost of Energy (LCOE) for electricity production by solar PV, onshore- and offshore wind, geothermal energy, fossil fuel power from natural gas and coal with CO2 emission costs, and battery storage;
ü Future scenarios assessment, by applying realistic growth models (logistic vs. linear vs. exponential) in combination with industrial learning curves;
ü Hydrogen value chains covering Hydrogen production (electrolyser vs. SMR), storage and fuel cells;
ü Linking stationary and mobile energy in techno-economic and environmental assessment of hybrid energy systems, by combining distributed energy generation, stationary energy storage and electric vehicles (battery electric vehicles and hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicles);
ü Solar PV value chain analysis from feedstock to installed system, quantifying effect of possible innovations along the value chain on solar module cost and LCOE.
